About John
John got interested in music at an early age having grown up in a musical family. He was given a drum set from his uncle on his 7th birthday. While focusing on drums for 7 years, he was always jealous of his sister's guitar and began messing around with it. At age 14 he made the switch to guitar. “I remember going down to the local store all the time just making noise” he recalls “they were such nice people! They never said a word, they just let me play. Then my father came with me one day and I can remember him saying “If you get an electric guitar, your not getting an amp too”. That day I came home with my first electric guitar AND AMP” At that point John taught himself how to play and spent his high school years playing in Heavy Metal cover bands.
While always looking for ways to further his knowledge he began taking serious lessons and studying music theory. He was also interested in writing and composing his own music. Since then he has been continuously performing with cover bands, original bands, wedding bands while constantly studying and working on chops. “I wanted to be a well rounded guitarist, so I studied Rock, Blues, Funk, Disco,Country, and Classical guitar” he said. Some of his work includes the bands "Approaching Zero", "Brandywine Road", "Shout", and “The Easy Outs”. John's most recent work could be heard on "Sandi Joy’s" most recent release titled "Fire On The Hills". He is also available for fill in gigs and session work.
